The Positive Way Forward for the Island of Ireland

In overruling Providence, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is leaving the European Union – a prophetic Egypt – which it joined in 1973 with Ireland and Denmark. However the powers that be in Europe and in the Remain camp at Westminster are desperately seeking to retain control of Britain’s enslavement under EU bondage. Around much of the Brexit, or ‘Brexodus,’ negotiations with the EU, we are hearing increasing sounds of ‘Pharaoh’s chariots,’ this as we listen to the spurious fears of trade problems with the EU being put forth over the 310-mile border with Northern Ireland and the Republic.

Let it now be said, this attempt to undermine the Brexit process will not succeed in preventing the opening of the prophetic ‘Red Sea,’ to deliver God’s servant people from the EU. As “Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you today: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen today, ye shall see them again no more forever” (Exodus 14:13).

On 23 June, 2016, Northern Ireland voted 55.8 per cent in favour of the UK remaining in the EU, while the overall UK vote was only 48.1 per cent Remain. The Northern Ireland vote was split on political and religious lines. The Democratic Unionist Party, the country’s largest party, supported Brexit. Sinn Féin, the SDLP, the Ulster Unionists, Alliance and the Green Party wanted to Remain in the EU. The Irish government also supported a Remain vote as it is staying in the EU.

We hear the sounds of Irish Republicans in Belfast and Dublin using the Brexit process as an opportunity to push through a referendum on reunification, a long-standing ambition which would break up the United Kingdom. This is looking back to the past and against the tide of the global expansion of the Common Law free trading nations. Within the ‘Five Eyes’ of intelligence gathering these nations co-operate in global security in an increasingly uncertain world.

The European Union with its dictatorial Civil Law remains locked in a now outdated and failing project to build a single unified politico-economic state which is rapidly falling apart, as indeed has repeatedly happened over the centuries in the affairs of continental Europe. All of this was foreseen by the prophet Daniel and in the Apocalyptic vision of Jesus Christ given to the Apostle John.

In geographical terms the isolation of Ireland from the European Union, after the United Kingdom has left the EU to rejoin the world, can only lead to more and more frustration over the inevitable disintegration in the eurozone. Remaining within the EU can only lead to increasing cultural containment which will force young people to leave the Republic for the New World and all the Irish family links.

In all reality, as Ireland joined the then EEC with Britain in 1973, the logical and best way forward now is for Ireland to leave the EU with Britain and join the global Commonwealth of nations in positive fraternal union with the great Scots-Irish diasporas. This makes absolute sense as the vast majority of Ireland's trade is with Northern Ireland and Great Britain.
